Some days, brain fog dampens my creative spirit. Stress, sadness, and physical pain can make the creative process strenuous. Reflecting on my mood and well-being helps me better understand present-life circumstances. I take that understanding and distill it into creative works. I feel validating all of my emotions and experiences makes my works more relatable and balanced. I consider these daily questions when I’m feeling unwell but still wish to be creative:

1. How did I share with others?
2. How did art reflect my feelings?
3. How did I contribute to my world?
4. Which tools best served my daily needs?
5. How did my past goals come to fruition?
6. How did my environment rise to meet me?
7. What efforts did I make toward my dreams?
8. What was the most nourishing part of my day?
Final Thoughts
These broader landscape questions take me beyond a basic self-care checklist. They speak to the narrative of my whole person, yet reflect on health and productivity. Sometimes, I even find ways to make tomorrow’s landscape better. I hope you will, too.
